Holy Smurtastic

I admit it. I watched the Smurfs on Saturday morning, BACK WHEN THEY STILL HAD REAL CARTOONS!. So, imagine my surprise, shock, and "whatha?" when I looked at this bit of news.

  1. I caught that trailer this morning. I'm so disheartened that they never come up with cool ideas to do these sorts of things. They just insert a CGI scooby doo, smurf, or Garfield into some lame movie about them being in real life. They've never managed to capture the magic of a film like Roger Rabit and do kids today know anything about Smurfs? They were lame when I was a kid, but I'd still go see a movie if it was directed by someone like Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hell Boy) or someone like that who could really craft an amazing Smurf world. Instead, they take the easy way out and just put the smurfs in OUR world, which is lame as hell.

  2. They are so real and 3-D. Scary!I bet the movie will require 3-D glasses or something.
